At first, Brooklyn teen Akeesha Williams was worried about having white roommates from the suburbs in college “because of our different cultural backgrounds” but so far her freshman year with roommates of different races has “been really cool.”
With live music and storytelling, the girls animated the memories of five women who were silenced: Sandra Bland, Joyce Curnell, Kindra Chapman, Ralkina Jones and Raynette Turner.
