The teen pregnancy rate in the United States hit its lowest level in 2008 since 1976, according to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics
. The pregnancy rate for teens ages 15-19 was about 70 pregnancies per 1,000 women, down from a high in 1990 of over 170.
