In fall 2013, WriteBoston launched Teen Voices Rising, an afterschool mentoring and journalism program designed to engage young women in the powerful work of expressing their voices on social justice issues.
Located in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, WriteBoston is an innovative nonprofit dedicated to promoting deep learning through writing. WriteBoston offers training and coaching for teachers, along with writing opportunities for urban students, built on the premise that powerful thinking and writing are inseparable. Since 2002, WriteBoston has strengthened the skills of more than 15,000 teachers and students in Boston and beyond.
WriteBoston is committed to empowering young people by giving them a writing voice. For almost 10 years, WriteBoston has partnered with The Boston Globe to publish Boston Teens in Print, a citywide youth newspaper that publishes teens across the boundaries of neighborhood, class, and ethnicity.
